Von Willebrand : Triathlon - DEMO VIDEO

I went back to Rochester for my 25th year class reunion and discovered my aunt by marriage who has von willebrand disease had just completed a triathlon. The triathlon was a benefit to raise money for the Rochester area bleeding disorder community but I learned it meant a lot more. --- I produced this piece on my own, it is intended to be used as a example of the sort of pieces that the HFA Media Task Force produce.  This is intended to be of a piece with the three tutorial videos. - David Ford (instructor)

When I went to shoot I saw a opportunity to make a cool shot.  This is the rig, I had her ride real slow until we were confident that it would stay put.

Texas Central Hemophilia Walk

Kevin Parker wrote:

The Texas Central Hemophilia Walk was held on Sept 10, 2011. The walk was to raise funds to support the Texas Central Hemophilia Association and NHF (National Hemophilia Foundation) and to raise awareness about the bleeding and clotting disorders community.  Two other walks were also held in Houston and Austin at the same time.

"Beyond Hemophilia" - Baseball

This is the first segment in what will be a on going series:

Beyond Hemophilia

Videos for this segment will focus on individuals within our community who have achieved inspirational feats, developed impressive talents, or have demonstrated significant leadership skills. The goal will be to motivate and inspire others to maintain compliance with their treatment regimen and to to actively pursue their ambitions.

This is something that anyone can produce a segment for.   All you need to do is shoot the activity, get a short interview and up load the raw footage to the HFA Media Task Force youtube site and I with do the rest, picture edit, sound, what ever needs doing.  If you want to do a picture edit with youtube editor, great, if not no problem.

Wow this video really came out great!  I must say I was a bit daunted by the whole process but your help really made things very simple.  I'm really impressed that you were even able to use some of the footage I took that was shaky - at best.  Thanks for the help with this, and making it much easier than I anticipated!  Best of all, the family absolutely LOVED the clip.  It made a huge impression on them - half an hour after they viewed the link his Mother was still crying and they were all frantically calling and sharing the video with friends and family.  Great job, I can't wait to work on more now that I know how easy your help makes the process!

Nicholas Infusion

I think Leland shot this, Nicholas did a Voice Over and sent me the photo and I put it together. The music is from a trio called Big Lazy, originally Lazy Boy but the chair maker sued them.  I like the journal entry feeling of this piece.

Jose Tavarez / El Paso

Jose Tavarez has finished a new video, this piece was shot in El Paso and edited with the youtube editor. Versions of the edit were shared via youtube with Katie (Portland OR) and David (NYC, NY).  We gave comments, Jose made revision and reposted.  Soon we had good working edit, then I download the video in HD and using a more sophisticated editing program (Final Cut Pro) brightened some shots, added subtitles (Jose translated) and placed the HFA logo on the end of the project.  This whole process was completed with in two days time.  Where it was then shown at the El Paso convention a day later.
